East Africa – Week 3
Uganda 2 August 2015 to 8 August 2015
I have not been able to upload photographs to my blog without wifi or decent band width but will add my photographs to my blog post as soon as I can.
We are having the most brilliant time in Uganda with everything being great. Our trip was organised by our local ground agents Avian Watch Uganda. Everything is going really well with Robert, our fantastic guide (who knows all the sites and calls and can whistle birds in) and Paul, our driver and fixer, for who nothing was too much.
The highlight of our third week in Uganda was seeing the Mountain Gorillas at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It is probably the best wildlife experience I have ever had, with two gorillas walking so close to me that I thought they were going to brush my leg.
Day 15 – Kibale National Park to Semliki National Park
Day 16 – Semliki National Park
Day 17 – Semliki National Park and then birding enroute to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 18 – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 19 – Kalinzu Forest and birding enroute to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Day 20 – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Day 21 – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
As at the end of my third week, I had seen 301 species of which 122 were new, which was fantastic.
